Law enforcement sources tell Seattlecrime.com a fugitive task force has apprehended the suspect in the murder of a Seattle rapper, who was shot and killed on First Hill late last year.

In December, prosecutors filed charges against 22-year-old Tyrese Harrison for the murder of Max Gasoi, who performed under the name Akshun the Don.

According to charging documents, on November 27th, Harrison fatally shot Gasoi during a drug deal gone bad on First Hill. Police records indicate Harrison fired on Gasoi from the back seat of Gasoi's Nissan Maxima. Court records say a bullet entered Gasoi's right arm, went into his side, and through his heart.

Harrison then allegedly fled with a grocery bag containing marijuana.

We've been told Harrison was arrested in Ohio by the Puget Sound Northwest Fugitive Task Force. We'll update with more details as we get them.

UPDATE: We've been told that police also recovered several 9mm handguns when they arrested Harrison.

Update 2: SPD has released a statement about the arrest:

Tyrese B. Harrison, 22, a suspect wanted in a November  2009 homicide , was arrested early this morning in Youngstown, Ohio by members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF).  The task force had received information from the Pacific Northwest Fugitive Apprehension Task Force (PNWFAT) and Seattle homicide detectives that Harrison may be staying in an apartment complex in Youngstown.  Following the arrest of Harrison, a search warrant was served on the apartment and 2 9mm handguns were recovered.  It is unknown at this time whether those guns were used in the Seattle homicide.  Homicide detectives in Seattle will follow up on the investigation once suspect Harrison is returned to Seattle.
