Breaking Up (Drug Deals) Is Hard to Do

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee March 25, 2010

The manager of a Capitol Hill apartment building called police last week after she ended up looking down the business end of a pistol after she tried to shoo away a car full of people she believes were trying to buy drugs in her neighborhood.

According to the report, at about 3pm on March 17th, the woman potted "a suspicious black in color Honda four-door with three occupants parked in a reserved space at her building" near Harrison and Melrose.

The report says the manager has received "numerous complaints from tenants about drug activity in the east side alley of the building" and was apparently convinced the group was there to buy drugs.

The woman walked up to the vehicle and "asked them not to park in the building reserved parking stalls," the report says, and the driver started to pull away.

Moments later, the driver stopped and then "began to aggressive honk the vehicle horn at [the manager]."

When the manager looked back at the vehicle, she saw a passenger pointing a black handgun at her.

The woman ran towards her building and the car sped off.

The report says the woman talked to police about problems with drug dealing in her neighborhood and directed officers to a possible drug dealer who lives in the area.
