Birds on a Wire Festival Kicks Off in Pullman

By Jonathan Cunningham March 26, 2010

There aren't typically many (any?) reasons to consider Pullman, WA a music destination. But this weekend, that's changing, with the debut of the Birds on a Wire Festival, a folk/Americana fest whose impressive lineup includes Justin Townes Earle, Joe Pug, Rocky Votalato, and Damien Jurado. And if you like supporting good Seattle music in non-Seattle locations, acts such as Sera Cahoone (pictured), the Maldives, Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band, the Moondoggies and Final Spins are totally worth the three-hour drive.

Birds on a Wire Fest is setting itself up to be Eastern Washington's answer to the Doe Bay Music Fest—and improving Pullman's music reputation in the process.
