Bank Burgled in the ID

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee March 4, 2010

It must be really disappointing to break into a bank in the middle of the night without setting off any alarms and only walk away with about $100.

On February 25th, police were called to a bank on 6th Ave S and S Jackson St in the International District—which almost every cop I've ever met still refers to as "Chinatown"—after employees at the bank reported they'd been burgled in the middle of the night.

According to the report, the burglar broke out a window in the building, rummaged through desks and teller stations, drank a soda and ate some food in a break room, and then tried—and failed—to open a cabinet by bashing it with a hole puncher.

When staff went to get the security video to turn over to police, they discovered the burglar had already absconded with it. The report says the burglar also made off with about $100.
