Woman Shot At in Delridge

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee February 18, 2010

A woman was targeted in a shooting in the Delridge neighborhood last week, a police report says.

The report says the woman was stopped at a stop sign at 21st Ave SW and SW Barton Street at about 8:00 p.m. on February 11th when a brown Honda pulled up behind her. A man got out of the passenger side of the Honda, fired several rounds into the back of the woman's car, and got back in the Honda which sped off.

The woman met officers nearby and gave them details about the incident. Police found two bullet holes in the woman's Chevy Suburban and officers recovered several shell casings and a bullet at the scene. "The victim told me that she had no idea why anyone would want to shoot at her," Officer Michael Boggs wrote in the report. "She said that the Suburban belongs to her father and she has been driving it for about 3 weeks. She did say that the car was damaged by an unknown suspect about 3 weeks ago."

Police photographed the damage and entered the bullet and casings into evidence.
