THEESatisfaction's New Free Mixtape Download

By Jonathan Cunningham February 23, 2010

You already know that THEESatisfaction headlined the PubliCola 1-year anniversary party last month and rocked Neumos a couple of weeks later as part of the Ladies Night celebration. Since then, Stasia (pictured on the left) and Cat have been featured on's 10 Best Live Pics of the Week, performed a lovely in-studio session at KEXP (listen to it here), announced that they're headed to Austin, TX for SXSW, and as of this afternoon, they've released a brand new free digital mixtape.

It's called THEESatisfaction Loves the SA-RA Creative Partners and it's the first installment of their "music appreciation" series in which they re-fix and sample songs from artists that really inspire them.

(It's something they say they want to do throughout their career, whenever the mood strikes them.) Even though there are only five songs total, there are plenty of bright spots. My favorite tune thus far is "Pause," which samples "Cheeba" off the Shafiq En' A-Free-Ka album. It also takes on homophobia. You can check out the entire project here.

And if that's not enough, THEESatisfaction are releasing a new vinyl project this Thursday.
