Fighting back is probably the quickest way to get shot, stabbed, or punched in the eye-hole during a robbery, but it's still kinda awesome when someone does. According to a police report, one man did just that in Interbay last week.
The report says the man told police he was driving in the 2200 block of 13th ave W shortly before 3:00 a.m. on February 1st when he noticed a "late 90's black four-door Honda Accord", which was speeding up and suddenly slowing down, and appeared to be following him.
The man pulled up to his apartment complex, and the Honda pulled up in a nearby gravel lot. The man parked in front of his apartment complex, got out of his car, and walked towards his building entrance.
As he was walking to the door, the report says two masked behind him and told the man "give me what you got.
When the man said he didn't have any money, one of the robbers "came after him," the report says, and the man swung at the masked man, knocking him down. When the other masked man attacked the victim, the victim also knocked him to the ground. When the first masked man got up, the victim knocked him back down again.
The victim then set off his car alarm and the suspects fled. The man ran into his apartment and called police.
The man suffered cuts and bruises during the robbery but wasn't seriously harmed. It doesn't appear that police made any arrests. However, the report says robbers weren't able to get away with anything more than a few lumps for their trouble.
