Robbery Round Up

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee February 24, 2010

We've got info on two robberies from the latest batch of (kinda old) SPD reports:

On 2-15-10 around 1440 hours the suspect entered the Gold Medal Video store at 6 S Weller ST. He was a white male 5-06, 140lbs with short dark hair, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and white athletic shoes. He was identified by [the witness] who said he stole a carton of cigarettes from her store last week by reaching over the counter while she was distracted.

Today he loitered at the counter browsing through DVDs. He attempted to distract [her]  by asking her for something behind her. When she turned, the suspect lunged over the counter and reached into the open till. He grabbed at money in the drawer but slammed the drawer on the suspect's hand. He left the store eastbound on S Weller St.

[Witness] counted the money in the till and did not think she was not missing any cash. was working alone and not able to reconcile receipts and cash in the till at this time. I advised her to call if cash was missing to have that added to the report. [She] described the suspect as having bulging eyes and a very dark and prominent eye brow. An area check for the suspect was negative.
