Man Convicted In Killing of Central District Sandwich Shop Owner
Rey Davis-Bell was convicted of fatally shooting Degene "Safie" Dashasa in the latter's restaurant and firing at former girlfriend Claressa Scott's apartment earlier in the day. Scott wasn't hurt.
Prosecutors say that on the day of the shootings Davis-Bell, 25, was angry with Scott for talking with his new girlfriend. It's unclear why Davis-Bell killed Dashasa at Philadelphia Cheese Steak.
Jurors deliberated for just under two days before finding Davis-Bell guilty of all counts: first-degree murder with a firearm, three counts of attempted first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.
