Ingraham Students Busted for Car Prowling During Class

Four Ingraham High School students are likely facing some hefty time in detention after they were busted breaking in to a car near their school last week.
At about 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, a group of office workers called police and reported that they'd witnessed a car full of teens break out the window of a vehicle, parked in a lot near the LA Fitness on 132nd and Aurora, and steal what appeared to be a black laptop bag.
The witnesses followed the car back to Ingraham High School and pointed out the vehicle and suspects to officers.
Police and administrators rounded up the group of four boys and questioned them about the incident.
Officers saw the stolen bag in the car and asks the boys about it. They all said they didn't know who the bag belonged to. The driver—who witnesses had seen breaking into the other car—told police he wouldn't talk without a lawyer present.
The bag, first thought to be a computer case, turned out to be an emergency road kit.
The school called the boys' parents, but it does not appear they were arrested. However, they could stil faces charges for car prowling. We'll follow up and see what happens.
