Another Mob Beating On Capitol Hill

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee February 26, 2010

Seattlecrime has learned that a mob of 5 or 6 men and women beat down a 25-year-old man in front of the Madison Market on Capitol Hill earlier this week.

At about 9:30 p.m. on February 24th, police received several reports that the group was assaulting a man, who was down on the ground bleeding in front of the market. Scanner traffic indicates the suspects were a group of four black males in their 20s and three females (who were described as both Asian and black by callers).

One witness at the scene told police they heard a member of the mob say the victim "raped somebody."

SPD hasn't been able to provide us with any information about the incident.

The victim was able to leave the scene and walked six blocks to 20th and Madison where he was treated by medics. Sources tell us the man sustained a serious head injury, and that this did not appear to be a robbery.

Police arrested one suspect.

SPD is still investigating a series of attacks February 14th attacks by a roving mob on Capitol Hill and in the Central District. No word on whether whether these incidents are related.
