The King County Prosecutor's case against former King County Sheriff's deputy Paul Schene, who allegedly beat the living shit out of a 15-year-old girl in a holding cell, has ended in a mistrial.

From the Seattle Times:

The 12-member jury told Superior Court Judge Michael J. Fox this afternoon that it was unable to reach verdict on a charge of fourth-degree assault, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a $5,000 fine. After conferring with attorneys for both sides, Fox declared a mistrial.

You can't convict a cop in this town. Even if you catch him beating up a kid on video.
