The Unluckiest Delivery Driver In Seattle

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee January 5, 2010

The universe is apparently conspiring against one South Seattle pizza delivery driver in what can only be an attempt to get him to change careers.

Police say that on December 27th, the driver—who works at the Domino's on Rainier Ave S and McClellan—called police to report he'd been robbed.

Now, a lone robbery certainly can't be considered a sign of a cosmic conspiracy. Unfortunately, this poor driver has apparently become a regular target for pizza bandits:

"We are familiar with this driver as he tends to get robbed frequently, including twice in one night," Officer Aaron Johnson wrote in his report.

On this most recent occasion, the driver told police he was making a delivery to a home in the 500 block of 28th Ave S when two men approached him on the street. "He said he knew he was going to get robbed so he just took out the cash he had and handed that over to them," Officer Johnson wrote. "One of them said they wanted to food as well so he also handed that over." The robbers then fled north through an alley, the report says, and got into an older gray or blue Chevrolet or Cadillac. Police didn't make an arrest.

The cosmos have aligned against you, Mr. Delivery Driver. It might be time to find a new line of work.
