The Morning Blotter
Smashed in SoDo: On January 12th, police were called to the 2700 block of 4th ave S after receiving a report about a fight involving a 2x4. At the scene, the victim told police he was walking into Subway for a sandwich when another man "flagged him down." The men got into an altercation and the victim called 911 and reported he had been assaulted. As the man was on the phone with the 911 operator, the other man apparently began swinging a 2x4 at him. The man punched his assailant in the face and took him to the ground. When police showed up, they determined that alcohol played a role in the incident, and transported one of the men to detox.
