Park Ranger Assaulted Downtown: A Seattle parks department ranger called police for help earlier this month after, a police report says, he was attacked near 3rd and Pike. Around 3:00 p.m. on January 2nd, the ranger radioed SPD for help. When police arrived, the ranger told officers that a man had approached him at 3rd and Pike and "came within a hand's reach." When the ranger asked the man to back up, the man shoved the ranger and, the report says, told him "you fuckin faggot, you pussy, I'll kick your fuckin ass. You won't be able to work the park, pussy!" Police arrested the man at the scene. As officers were escorting him to a patrol car, he turned and spat on the park ranger. The man was booked into the King County Jail for assault.
