Eyeglass Bandit Strikes Again: Police reports from ugly events around the city on New Year's Eve continue to come in. Today, police released a report which appears to indicate that a man suspected of assaulting and stealing the eyeglasses of at least nine different people at Neighbour's nightclub on Capitol Hill last year could be back in business. According to the report, police were called to Neighbours on New Year's Eve after a man was assaulted in the club. The man told police he was dancing when another man walked over to him from across the room and said "don't ever fucking touch me." The hostile man then punched the victim in the face, took his glasses off—scratching him in the process—and left Neighbours. A witness at the scene told police that he had also been the victim of a similar robbery and believes the suspect lives in Everett. Last March, police were looking for a man believed to have robbed nine different people of their eyeglasses at Neighbours. The report for this most recent incident does not indicate whether police believe this most recent robbery was committed by the same man, but it certainly fits his m.o.
