SWAT Standoff On Leary

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee January 30, 2010

Seattle police surrounded a 7-11 in the 900 block of Leary Way around 11:00 p.m. Saturday night after a man walked into the store with a gun. Patrol officers, SWAT units and negotiators quickly surrounded the store. The man was alone inside.

Officers saw the man exhibiting strange behavior throughout the evening. At one point, he light up a pipe, and shortly thereafter found a broom or mop and began cleaning a corner of the store.
