SPD gang detectives have determined that last night's shooting in the Rainier Valley was accidental. According to police, the 16-year-old victim told detectives a friend was showing off a pistol when it went off.

The 16-year-old was hit in the leg and taken to Harborview with non-life-threatening injuries.

SPD says gang detectives are continuing their investigation of the shooting.
