Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening to Rape Woman Near Capitol Hill
Shortly before midnight on January 12th, a witness called 911 and reported a man following a woman near Denny and Stewart. Police arrived and found the man—described in the report as a black male in his 40s—chasing a woman near the Denny Street overpass.
According to the report—which was just released by SPD—when police contacted the man, he became “belligerent and hostile” and shoved one of the officers. Police handcuffed the man and put him in a patrol car while they interviewed the victim who, the report says, “appeared extremely traumatized.”
The woman told police she was walking up the Denny Way overpass when she "felt someone near her" and started running.
The woman told officers man—who was apparently on a bicycle—began chasing her. "This asshole had been following me for like 10 blocks,” the woman told police, “and he told me he was going to kill my cunt." The woman also said the man called her a "whore" and told her she had “to give it up right here.” The man also reportedly told the woman "If you don't find a suitable place for your pussy I'll find one”; "bitches don't matter"; “you will suck my cock before you die" and “I will chase you down and when I catch you, justice will be served."
Police arrested the suspect and booked him into the King County Jail for allegedly assaulting the woman and for assault on an officer.
