The Morning Blotter: "Give me the money. I'm having a really bad night."
Tough Day at the Office/Lake City: There seem to be a number of eminently quotable robbers running around North Seattle these days (or perhaps just one). Yesterday, we brought you news of a hatchet-wielding robber in Lake City who tried to make off with another man's beer. Today's wonderfully candid criminal walked into a Wallingford convenience store on December 9th wearing a nylon over his face, brandished a 4-5" serrated knife and told the clerk "give me the money. I'm having a really bad night." The clerk asked how much money the man wanted, a police report says, and was told $20, all in fives. Officers were unable to find the man, but about an hour later, police received a report that the man may have attempted another robbery on 87th and Lake City Way.
