The Morning Blotter
Man Slashed on Capitol Hill: Two patrol officers were flagged down near 3rd and Pine on December 12th, by a man who told police he'd been stabbed on the bus. The report, taken at about 12:30 in the morning, says the man was initially uncooperative, telling officers he'd cut himself "on a screw in a bus seat." Eventually man told police he'd been at a bus stop on Broadway and Madison with some friends who were joking around with a girl. The girl's boyfriend apparently got upset and cut the man's hand, leaving a deep cut on his right palm. The wounded man then got on a bus with his friends and headed downtown. Medics at 3rd and Pine—who, the report says, were already in the area to treat a victim in another assault—told the man he would need stitches. Again, the man became uncooperative and refused medical assistance and said he did not want a report filed. Police were unable to get any further information about a suspect in the case.
