Officer Injured During Arrest/Lake City: At about 10:20 p.m. on December 4th, two officers were dispatched to a home in the 7700 block of 16th Ave NE to check on the victim of a domestic violence incident. Officers entered the home and spotted a man who'd been involved in a related DV property damage incident earlier that day. Officers told the man they were taking him in to custody, but the man warned officers that "they were not going to arrest him," the report says. The man then pushed a table at the officers, threw a picture, and tried to flee. Officers tackled the man and tried to handcuff him, but the man fought back, pushing one of the officers backwards. Police wrestled with the man, until the man pounced on one of the officers. During the scuffle, the other officer on scene was shoved and fell to the ground, dislocating his shoulder. Police were finally able to take the man in to custody, and also arrested another person in the home who, according to the report, tried to intervene. On the way to the precinct, the report says, the man told officers "he had fun and loved being roughed up by men in uniform."
