The Morning Blotter

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee December 10, 2009

Fire Station Burgled/Madison Park: Police are investigating yet another burglary at a Seattle fire station, this time at Madison Park's Station 34. According to a police report, sometime between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. on November 30th, someone walked into the station and stole $30 from a desk, and another $90 from a locker. A number of fire stations across Seattle have been burglarized over the last few years, and a number of firefighters we've spoken to believe it's an inside job. In some cases, the burglar (or burglars) has entered the fire stations using a city-wide access code, and often takes money pooled by firefighters to purchase food. The police report for this latest incident doesn't indicate whether this burglary might be related to other incidents around the city.
