Teens Attack Man, Steal His iPhone on Metro Bus

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee December 18, 2009

Police say a Metro driver flagged down a police officer in South Seattle last night and said one of the passengers had been beaten and robbed.

According to police, the victim was sitting near the front of the bus playing a video game on his iPhone. When the bus reached a stop at Renton Avenue South and South Henderson, four teens approached him and grabbed his phone. The man struggled with the thieves, who then punched the man in the face and head. The group got off the bus and fled with the man's phone.

A short time later, police located the teens near the scene of the robbery and took them in to custody. The were booked into the Youth Service Center, but police weren't able to find the phone.

iPhones are certainly a hot item for thieves these days and, from going through police reports, it seems like police are investigating an iPhone robbery just about every other day. More on that soon.
