Season's Beatings

By Brian Slodysko December 24, 2009

A man leaving work at 7 a.m. last week was attacked by an aggressive panhandler near 2nd Ave. and Battery St., after he apologetically declined to give the man money.

According to a report, the panhandler became agitated, shouting "The next motherfucker who tells me 'sorry' is going to get hit." The panhandler then punched the man in the face, stared at him for a few seconds and fled the scene.

Medics transported the victim to Swedish Hospital, where he was treated for a strike to the cheek and a few loose teeth.  A police sweep of the area failed to yield a suspect.
