More Details on Holman Road Stabbing

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee December 2, 2009

A recently released police report of a November 22nd stabbing in the Crown Hill neighborhood provides a few more details about the moments leading up to the incident and information about possible evidence found near the scene.

According to the report, the woman injured in the incident was leaving work at a nearby restaurant when she noticed a man following her. Then man tailed her into a nearby gas station, the report says, and then down Holman Road. The woman slowed down to let the man pass her on the sidewalk, the report says, but instead, the man slowed his pace and then stopped behind her. The woman tried to cross the street to get away from the man, but was unable to due to traffic.

The report says the man walked up to the woman, put his right arm "over and across her body," and then stabbed her with something in his left hand. The man did not let go until the woman started to scream.

Witnesses called 911, and patrol and K9 units were dispatched to the scene. Police did not find the man, but recovered a pocket knife with a broken blade near the scene and a hat found by K9 units at 16th NW and NW 85th Street.

The man—described in the report as a white male with short brown hair, 5'11, heavy set, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants mid to late 30s—was last seen walking away southbound on Holman Road.

The report says the woman did not know the man, and notes that he did not say anything to her during the attack.
