McGinn to Keep Six Nickels-Appointed Department Heads

By Erica C. Barnett December 18, 2009

Mayor-elect Mike McGinn just announced that he will retain six city department heads appointed by his predecessor Greg Nickels, including Office of Housing Director Adrienne Quinn, who housing advocates worried would not be reappointed. In addition, he announced he was hiring badass SEIU lobbyist Candice Inagi as his labor and community liaison.

The department heads McGinn is retaining include:

Seattle Public Utilities interim director Ray Hoffman (who will have to be confirmed as permanent director by the city council);

Education office director Holly Miller;

Parks director Timothy Gallagher;

Housing office director Quinn;

Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs director Michael Killoren;

and Office of Economic Development director Stephen Johnson.

No word yet about the fate of Grace Crunican, the controversial head of the city's transportation department under Nickels.

(Here's my post yesterday about McGinn appointing men to most of his top positions.)
