The Seattle Weekly has the scoop on Mayor-Elect Mike McGinn's new communications director: It's former Seattle Times and PI editor (and briefly brought in as an editor to revive non-profit online news site Crosscut) Mark Matassa.

Between his news editor gig at the PI and his recent gig at Crosscut, Matassa was Jan Drago's campaign spokesman during her run for mayor this year.

Before he joined Crosscut, Matassa was also briefly on PubliCola's advisory board, where—he likes to joke—he advised us on which gin to drink.
