Driver in Fremont Hit-and-Run Arrested
Seattle police have arrested a 26-year-old suspect in a hit-and-run accident in Fremont on Sunday.
At least three people were injured in the accident, including a woman on the street was struck in the head and knocked unconscious by flying debris, and her husband was hit in the back by a tire. A passenger in the 26-year-old man's car—which was stolen—was also injured.
The 26-year-old man fled the scene of the accident and was in Shoreline on Tuesday afternoon. According to court records, it appears this isn't the first time the man has gone on a crime spree in Fremont.
Court records say that in March 2008, the man broke into one vehicle in Fremont, stole a woman's golf clubs and bank card, and then stole a Toyota 4Runner. Police spotted the vehicle not far from where it was taken and arrested the man near 41st and Fremont, just two blocks from where this weekend's crash occurred.
