County Council Committee Selects Expansion Plan for Juvenile Jail
The King County Council voted on a plan last night to expand the juvenile jail into a 230,000 square foot facility with 15 court rooms.

At a meeting of the 12th Avenue neighborhood group last night, county councilmember Larry Gossett said that the project will end up costing $120-$140 million to complete, and will likely require a public vote next fall to approve bonds to finance it. The 2010 county budget includes $3 million to fund detailed design and planning for the project.
