City Maintenance Facility In Haller Lake Burgled

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee December 11, 2009

The city's ability to combat the ravages of fall may have been crippled last week when thieves broke in to a city maintenance facility in North Seattle and made off with a number of leaf blowers and other equipment.

Workers at a Seattle Department of Transportation facility on 126th and Stone Avenue arrived at the facility on December 4th and found that burglars had broken into two buildings on the property by cutting through the side of one building on the property and by breaking a window on another.

A police report says the thieves took leaf blowers, "gas powered weed eaters," and welding cable, all worth about $700. Police were unable to find any prints or suspects at the scene.
