The worst part about going home for the holidays is finding out that all your high school friends are more successful than you. I, for example, just found out that my software developer friend got a bonus worth more than what I have made in the past two years.

But at least I can find comfort in YACHT. The Portland-based dance duo put no stock in stocks and never ask “are you making money?” instead of “are you happy?”

“I'm in Love with a Ripper” finds YACHT rocking their current 1980s loving, DFA phase. It's all synth squiggles and drum programming bolstered by Clare Evans' sublime wordplay. “I was told to marry a doctor,” she sings, “Now I'm with a witch doctor...in our minds we are millionaires”
