Police say a woman was stabbed in the Crown Hill neighborhood earlier this evening.

SPD spokeswoman Renee Witt says the female victim walking was down the street near NW 90th and Holman Road when a man approachd her from behind. When the woman turned around to face the man—who she did not know—he stabbed her in the lower back and fled, Witt says.

The woman was taken transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police are searching for the man, but did not release a description.
