A lot of people have asked why the Democratic election-night parties (Dow Constantine, No on 1033, and Joe Mallahan) are at the Edgewater Hotel on the waterfront.

Susan Hutchison, a conservative candidate for King County Executive (and longtime, frequent Republican contributor) initially reserved both the Westin and the downtown Bellevue Hyatt for her election-night party. The Dems, not wanting to hold their event at the same location as a (purported) Republican's, moved to the Edgewater (where, incidentally, Hutchison, held her primary-night event).
