Man Threatens Staff at Ballard Hospital A man threatened hospital staff at the Ballard Swedish Hospital with a knife last week because he was unhappy with the doctor assigned to treat him, police records say. The man checked in to the hospital for treatment at about 7:00 p.m. on November 18th, and, according to a report, was "flagged in the hospital's computer for a security response because of past behavioral issues." The man became angry when he found out he would be treated by a female doctor and "began swearing and spitting in the room," the report says. A hospital security officer "stepped in to calm [the man] down," and asked him to leave when he would not. Then, the report says, the man pulled open his jacket and flashed a large knife tucked into his waistband, and threatened hospital staff.  The man left the hospital and was arrested nearby. King County Jail records show the man was booked for harassment and several weapons charges. Records also indicate he's previously been booked for assault, trespassing, and resisting arrest. The man also had a warrant out for malicious mischief, police records say.

"They think the pimp has a gun" Police detained at least one person at a downtown motel last night after employees called to report an apparent confrontation between a john, a prostitute, and her pimp, who was armed with a gun.The incident happened at about 10:45 p.m. near 6th and Virginia. For some reason, officers responded to two different rooms on different floors of the motel. No word yet on any arrests.

Attempted Burglary at Seattle University House: Police are investigating a burglary at a Seattle University-owned house on 12th Avenue and Barclay court. According to an alert notice from the school, at about 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, a man kicked in the back door of the house, and tried to get in. Two female students were home at the time, and called police. When the man saw the women, he fled. He is described as wearing a red & white ball cap and dark jacket, with a stubbly beard, light skin, between 20  and 30 years old. Police found a man near the scene of the break in matching that description, but the women were unable to identify him as the burglar.
