What do we have in store today? Assaults, robberies, gunfire, and bear mace at a birthday party. Read on:
Leschi: Police have increased patrols in the neighborhood surrounding Leschi Elementary after a student was assaulted by a group of men on November 5th. According to the report, the boy was taking a Metro bus to school and got off at the wrong stop, about one block past Leschi Elementary. As he walked towards school, a man on the street yelled "Get that nigger" at the boy, and a group of about five men began to chase him. The boy ran towards the school and tried to climb a fence to get away, but one of the men grabbed him and threw him to the ground. The men then kicked the boy in the ribs and ran off. The boy didn't provide many details about the men to police, but said they were all black men wearing dark clothing, and that one of the men had a dog, which may have been a pitbull or German shepherd.
Lower Queen Anne: One woman was robbed at gunpoint and nearly raped and another was assaulted near the Seattle Center late last month, a police report says. At around 2:00 a.m. on October 31st, a woman called police at about 2:00 a.m. and told officers she was standing outside of the Quality Inn on 6th Avenue and John St smoking a cigarette when a man approached her and asked why she was standing in front of the motel. The woman told the man to go away, but he became angry, pulled out a silver handgun, and demanded the woman's purse, a police report says. The man then put the gun to the woman's head and said, "You're coming with me." As the man forced the woman in to an alley, he told her that he is a member of the D-Dub gang and has a warrant out for first degree murder. He told the woman that "if she did anything, he would shoot her, and would shoot...police if he had to," the report says. In the alley, the man took the woman's purse, and began groping her. He reached inside her bra and asked the woman "you wanna be fucked?" The woman talked the man into accompanying her to her room at the motel, and walked out of the alley with the man. The man was distracted by a passing car, and the woman was able to run away towards Aurora and call police.As the woman was on the phone with a 911 operator, she said she heard another woman screaming nearby. When police arrived, they found another woman at 6th Ave N and Denny Way, who said the same man had approached her, pistol-whipped her, and tried to take her purse. Police were unable to locate the man.
Judkins Park: A man and a woman were on their way to a restaurant in the Rainier Valley in the early morning hours of November 2nd, when they made a wrong turn somewhere near Rainier Ave S and S State street and got lost. As they drove around, the couple up on a street which was blocked off by a white hatchback, surrounded by a group of three or four men, a report says. Suddenly, the group of men charged at the woman's vehicle, shouting "Go, go, go! Get out of here!" Shots then rang out, and five to six bullets struck the woman's vehicle. The hatchback sped away. No one was injured in the incident. The woman returned to her home in Shoreline and called police, who impounded her vehicle as evidence after they found bullets still lodged in the side of the car.
Rainier Beach: Several students were treated for exposure to bear mace at Rainier Beach high school on November 5th after a birthday party went very, very wrong. A report says a former student showed up to the school for the party, and began showing off a can of Frontiersman Bear Attack Deterrent. She began "playfighting" with another student, and the canister apparently went off. The girl was trespassed from the school, and police have requested that prosecutors charge the girl for possession of a chemical irritant.
Greenwood: On November 5th, a woman called police to report that someone had entered the unlocked shed behind her home in the 11200 1st Ave NW on November 5th, taken a sawzall, and left behind a pile of poo.
