At about 2:30 a.m. this morning, police say officers stopped a suspicious vehicle in the 13000 block of Linden Ave N and detained a juvenile suspect, police say. Officers took the boy home to his mother—police have not said why the vehicle was stopped or why the boy was detained—who told officers the the boy had given them a false name. The boy took of running, and fled through a window in his apartment and the officer gave chase, thinking the window was on ground floor. It was not. The officer climbed out the window and fell 25 feet to the ground.

The officer was taken to Harborview where he is in stable condition, police say. Officers did not catch the boy.
