McGinn Headquarters on Aurora: Subdued
PubliCola reporter Jake Blumgart is embedded at Mike McGinn's campaign headquarters on 40th and Aurora—a bland office rental covered in McGinn signs, open laptops, and newspapers scattered on desks where about 30 folks are gathered.
(We tried to send Erica to Joe Mallahan's shop, but we were told it was a "private" affair.)

Blumgart describes the reaction to the latest numbers (McGinn 49.77 to Mallahan 49.33, a 462-vote lead for McGinn as opposed to last night's 910-vote lead) as subdued.
McGinn's media contact Aaron Pickus said: "This shows last night's results are true. Everyone is feeling great." (Editorializing, Blumgart says it didn't seem that way, and described the campaign's responses as clipped, unlike the exuberance last night.)
McGinn's volunteer field organizer, Derek Farmer, added: "The proportion of support has not changed very much."
Farmer said they were "pretty confident the later returns would follow the trend we saw in the primary." (In the primary results last August, McGinn came out on top on opening night, then Mallahan went up, and then McGinn recaptured the lead.)
