A group of men pistol whipped, pepper sprayed, and robbed a man of his wallet, a handgun, and a cell phone, outside a storage unit complex in the 2200 block of Aurora Ave N, which is also used by bands as a practice space.

According to a police report, on November 22nd, the group of men, one whom was carrying a gun, had previously tried to force their way into a band practice space -- even threatening to shoot through the door after the space's occupants slammed and locked it on them. After failing to gain access, the group of men turned their attention to the victim -- who was outside and apparently knew the people inside the space -- beating him and spraying him with what may have been his own bottle of pepper spray.

According to the report, blood was found on the wheel of a nearby vehicle and on the pavement near a flight of stairs leading to the space. Blood trailed up the stairs and a can of pepper spray was left midway up the flight.

After the beating, the assailants left the scene and the victim was allowed into the practice space. The assailants later returned and again demanded entry to no avail. Police later recovered a 9mm bullet from the door of the unit. 

After taking statements from the victims, police noticed the door to a nearby unit was ajar. Suspecting that one of the assailants may be inside hiding, officers entered and discovered a marijuana growing operation. The suspects were not found.
