It's Getting a Little Nerve-Racking

1. I hate to be cynical, but check out how health insurance industry stocks did on Wednesday morning after Sen. Max Baucus released his health care reform plan.
2. King County Executive candidate, Council Member Dow Constantine, got off a good one-liner in Wednesday night's Seattle Rotary Club debate against his opponent, former KIRO-TV anchor Susan Hutchison.
The Seattle Times ended their report with Constantine's zinger:
Constantine asked Hutchison if she would post on her campaign Web site her responses to questionnaires from interest groups. She said her responses can be found on the groups' sites, prompting Constantine to respond: "So that's a no."
Constantine has posted his completed questionnaires on his campaign website . Here's the list of 19 (with links to his answers):
1) Aerospace Machinists District Lodge 751 2) 41st District Democrats 3)The Alki Foundation 4) Cascade Bicycle Club 5) Firefighters Local 27 6) King County Conservation Voters 7) King County Democrats 8) King County Labor Council 9) Medic One 10) The Municipal League 11) NARAL 12) Planned Parenthood 13) Rental Housing Association 14) SEIU 15) Sierra Club 16) Teamsters Joint Council 28 17) UA Local 32 18) Unite Here 8 19) WA Education Association
Yesterday, I asked Hutchison's campaign—which, again, has not posted Hutchison's questionnaires on her website—to name the sites that have, as she explained at the debate, posted Hutchison's questionnaires on their own.
Hutchison spokesman Jordan McCarren told me: "There are a number of Susan's questionnaires available online. The King County Labor Council, King County Animal Care and Control Board, and Eastside Human Services Forum have all posted her responses on their websites."
Hutchison's Eastside Human Services Forum answers are here . She provides mostly generic answers about the importance of "spending on services for vulnerable populations" with a slight conservative's bent on streamlining programs. (Constantine himself doesn't appear to have filled this one out.)
Hutchison's King County Labor Council candidate questionnaires is here.
One noteworthy answer: Asked directly about her position on voucher schools, she dodges and gives an off point answer about fair teacher salaries. (Constantine says he's against voucher schools.)
As for the King County Animal Care and Control Board? I'm not finding that one. (I did find this, but no candidate questionnaires.)
3. Sorry, I've been slacking on "The Comment of Day" lately. (We've got lots of exciting stuff happening on the business side that's been taking away from blogging time. More on all that in a few days.)
So, a little late, but here's a prize comment from reader CC Meye on Erica's take down of Mike McGinn's budget plan yesterday:
5. CC Meye says:
Another clear indication that McGinn does not know how City Government works. the problem? Neither does Mallahan.

Yeah. It's getting a little nerve-racking isn't it?
4. There are going to be 30 new parks-for-a-day toady around the city (like this one at Summit and Pine in Capitol Hill where there's currently a vacant lot.)
Today is Park(ing) day, a nationwide event in which people take over parking lots and mostly parking meter stalls and turn them into their own specially themed parks.
There'll to be an awards ceremony—including a $200 prize for the best Park(ing) spot—at Summit and Pine at 6pm. Locally, Park(ing) day is being sponsored by Feet First.
Today's Morning Fizz is brought to you by Washington Conservation Voters.
