Extra Fizz: 11th District Not Impressed with McGinn or Mallahan.
As Morning Fizz promised, here's how the 11th District Democrats (S. Seattle, mostly Renton, Burien, SeaTac, Tukwila) endorsed last night for the general election.
They endorsed King County Council Member Dow Constantine for King County Executive. (The district had endorsed Constantine, Democratic state Rep. Ross Hunter, and King County Council Member Larry Phillips in the primary.)
The 11th did not endorse in the mayor's race. (They endorsed incumbent Mayor Greg Nickels in the primary.)
Vice Chair Jay Hollingsworth said members felt they didn't know enough about the two remaining contenders, Mike McGinn and Joe Mallahan, adding that neither of the candidates has addressed the members. The district may revisit the endorsement in late October.
In the city council races the 11th stuck with its primary election endorsements in three races, giving the nod to Nick Licata over Jessie Israel, a dual for Richard Conlin and David Ginsberg, and endorsing David Bloom.
They made no endorsement in the race to fill Richard McIver's open seat where Mike O'Brien is the frontrunner against Robert Rosencrantz.
