Campaign Finance Update

By Erica C. Barnett September 11, 2009

The candidates who survived the August 18 primary election have filed their latest campaign finance reports and—surprise!—nobody has much money left. However, some candidates spent more than others, leaving them tens of thousands of dollars in debt going into the November general.

Mayoral candidate Joe Mallahan, for example, is currently $32,000 in the hole; Robert Rosencrantz, running against Mike O'Brien for City Council Position 8, reported nearly $13,000 in debt; and David Bloom, running against Sally Bagshaw for Position 4, is more than $3,800 in the red. Those numbers don't reflect a few additional contributions that candidates have reported since August 31.

Detailed campaign finance info for all the candidates on the general-election ballot after the jump.
