24 Hours a Day

By FoodNerd September 3, 2009

A while back
, I posted about the great web site The Auteurs, a film discussion, viewing, and networking site.  Today, they've made a very exciting announcement.

The Auteurs is part of distribution for 24h Berlin, an incredible film project. On September 5, 2008, 400 people in 80 teams fanned out all over Berlin to capture 24 hours in the life of the German capital. A team of ten editors spent ten months cutting 750 hours down to 24.

Starting at 9pm PST on Friday night, the result will screen continuously, for free, on The Auteurs.  As the day goes on, one-hour episodes will become available for individual viewing.  Finally, later in the week, a 90-minute feature-length version will hit the web.

Experimental process, experimental form, experimental distribution--there's something wiki about the whole project, which I like. Added bonus:  It's all about my favorite city in the world.
