Extra Fizz: Who Won Where

First item of interest: Republican Susan Hutchison beat both of the two Eastside Democrats running for King County Executive—state Sen. Fred Jarrett and state Rep. Ross Hunter—in their own legislative districts. She also came in second place in every Seattle legislative district, winning between 19.4 percent (in the 43rd, representing Capitol Hill, Wallingford, and the U District) and 28.1 percent (the 34th District, which Constantine represents on the King County Council.)
In the 41st, Hutchison beat Jarrett 37.9 to 31.6 percent; in the 48th, she beat Hunter 38.5 percent to 31.5 percent.
The numbers are a sign of Huthcison's strength on the Eastside (she actually lives in Seattle), and the harbinger of what could be an uphill battle for Democrat Dow Constantine, who came in fourth in both districts, behind all three of the other major Democratic candidates.
Constantine, meanwhile, won handily in every legislative district in Seattle. Somewhat surprisingly, the areas where Constantine was victorious include the 36th, which Phillips represents. Phillips came in fourth overall, behind Hutchison, Constantine, and Jarrett.
Meanwhile, in the Seattle Mayor's race, the three leading candidates evenly split the six Seattle legislative districts, with each candidate winning two. Nickels won the South End's 11th and 37th Districts, McGinn won in the liberal 36th and 43rd Districts; and Mallahan took the 46th and 34th.
