Expenditure of the Day: Cops, Firefighters for Bagshaw
Secure Seattle—a PAC funded by the Seattle Police Officers Guild and the Seattle Fire Fighters Union—is spending around $10,000 on a mailing for Sally Bagshaw, who's running for City Council Position 4. (David Bloom and Dorsol Plants are the other two major candidates in that race.)
The Guild and the firefighters have both endorsed Bagshaw, citing her work in the King County Prosecutor’s Office under Republican Dan Satterberg (who has also endorsed her)."She understands that public safety is the foundation of a livable community and we look forward to working with her," SPOG president Rich O'Neill said at the time.
A big chunk of the money will go to Laurus and Associates, the same firm that's doing an independent expenditure for Nick Licata challenger Jessie Israel on behalf of the firefighters' union (as we reported in Morning Fizz this morning). O'Neill has not yet returned a call for comment.
