City Council member Jan Drago, one of five candidates opposing Mayor Greg Nickels, has received $700 from the Kent-based firm The Robbins Company, plus another $1,000 from a the company's former president, Richard Robbins
, and his wife. The company manufactures deep-bore tunnel machines like the one that would dig a proposed tunnel on the Seattle waterfront (above).

Drago has taken credit
for securing a $30 million contract for the Robbins Co. while on a trip to Chongqing, China—part of her extensive travel during her 16 years on the council.

The Robbinses have given money to Nickels, too (as well as City Council Position 8 candidate Robert Rosencrantz), but Drago is the only candidate The Robbins Company has contributed to.
