Seattle Times Endorses Nickels, Mallahan

By Erica C. Barnett July 31, 2009

Underwhelming : The Times endorses two candidates with the most money, both of whom are likely to go through.
Both should advance to the general election and both have a pile of work to do. [...]

Nickels is a competent leader with significant flaws seeking an unusual third term. He should tone down the aggressiveness in approach and find new ways to accomplish things.

Mallahan should tell us more, or better yet, show us how he can make the significant leap from competent businessman to mayor of the state's largest city.

Dual endorsements are frustrating because voters can't pick two candidates. The Times is dodging a question voters can't: Who should I, as a voter, vote for?
