Contribution of the Day

Bellevue's Kemper Freeman—the mass-transit-hating, Republican-loving mall developer who once compared light rail proponents to "socialists" and terrorists —just contributed $1,600 to former KIRO anchor Susan Hutchison's campaign for King County Executive.

At today's CityClub forum in Bellevue, Hutchison came out against taxes, said she would overturn the county's Critical Areas Ordinance (an environmental regulation that protects rural land from suburban sprawl), and then dodged a question about whether she's a Republican.
