Former Seattle Mayor Charles Royer Endorses Fred Jarrett for K.C. Exec

By Josh Feit June 2, 2009

The has the scoop, and it comes with a theory:

Royer becomes the first prominent Seattle officeholder to "cross the lake" in a race that involves four Democrats holding public office, King County Councilmen Larry Phillips and Dow Constantine, and Eastside legislators Jarrett and Ross Hunter.

The endorsement has a measure of payback, since Phillips and Constantine cast decisive votes that thwarted Royer's bid to be the interim replacement for former King County Executive Ron Sims.

It also comes just hours before tonight's showdown in Belltown where all the candidates are facing off in a mega-candidate forum being sponsored by local Democrats.

Details on tonight's debate, which also features all the Mayoral candidates, in yesterday's Morning Fizz.
