Contribution of the Day

Not so much a single contribution today, as mayoral candidate Jan Drago's entire June 29 report, which features a slew of folks who gave money to Mayor Greg Nickels, then turned around and donated money to Drago after she got in the mayor's race.
From the latest campaign filings:
Costco CEO Jeffrey Brotman, who gave Drago the maximum contribution of $700--a year and a half after giving $350 to Nickels.
Developer Richard Hedreen and his wife Elizabeth, who collectively contributed $1,400 to both Drago and Nickels. Interestingly, Richard Hedreen was at the center of one of the few debates in which Nickels and Drago have been on opposite sides over the years. (A common critique of Drago is that she doesn't disagree with Nickels on most major issues). Back in 2002 my colleague Josh Feit broke this story: Drago supported a giveaway of development credits to Hedreen that was worth $6 million; Nickels subsequently vetoed the giveaway.
Former Seattle port commissioner Paige Miller, whose $500 contribution to Drago was ten times the size of her check to Nickels.
Hotel owner and real estate investor Craig Schafer, who gave $700 to both Drago and Nickels.
Political consultant Gary Smith, who gave $700 to Drago—and just $37.50 to Nickels.
City council member Jean Godden, who gave Drago double—$200—what she contributed to Nickels.
One contributor who defiitely doesn't show up on Nickels list, but showed up on Drago's list today: Seattle Sonics president Wally Walker, who maxed out to Drago at $700. Drago has frequently criticized Nickels for failing to win a $30 million payout at the legislature from "the Oklahoma millionaire who stole the Sonics."
